BUT WHY

The mission is simple and different, educate, communicate, and assist

Lilly Francis is very special to my heart. One Saturday afternoon, I needed a name but one that fit everything I wanted my company to stand for and represent. So I decided on "Lilly Francis" let me share….

"Lilly" was my maternal grandmother her name was Lillian, (she went by Marie or to me granny) she was my everything, I was named after her, I look more like her than either of my parents. She was a fierce woman, harsh and crass to some, she bit her tongue for no one she was honest and what you saw was exactly what you got every day of the week and maybe twice on Sundays. She wasn't scared of anything; she was always straight to the point and matter of fact. Wrong was wrong and right was right no matter who you were and she'd tell you straight up quick. She loved hard and if you were one of her people, she would fight an army for you (she got after my mom on my behalf a time or two). She moved in life like a lion not a “Lilly” at all, that's a play on my memory and for those who knew her. She went to heaven when I was 18.

Frequently I open my mouth and the best parts of her come barreling out before I can catch them and I look up to the heavens and grin. She embodied truth and integrity no matter where, what, or who and Insurance is rooted in trust and requires integrity.

"Francis" was my paternal grandmother. My maw maw, very much the opposite of my granny. She was very soft spoken, gentle, laid back and empathetic. She was a pure sugar cube with a sprinkle of innocent mischievous humor. She was careful, thoughtful and purposeful in her movements and actions. She was tiny at just 4'11, but as I grew older and towered over her, her hugs got tighter like she got stronger and she shared insights with me about life as I'd lay across the foot of her bed or with my head in her lap on the divan or on the deck watching the cows. Those stories about life would be lessons that changed my entire perspective on life. She showed me patience which I have little of by choice by force I’m learning to appreciate it. She went to heaven 5/28/2014. I miss her soft voice, sense of humor, just plain old common sense as she said many times, her hugs, the things she taught that no book could have begun to and she always saw the best in people even when they were meaner or uglier than an old goat.

The kind of agent I am and agency I will have, embodies the best parts of both of my grandmothers. They played such important roles in the person I am today, I had to intertwine them into the foundation of my business.

Grandmas are important to family, the old school maw maw and granny, always helped, knew something about everything and prayed. They could be trusted with everything, kept everyone and everything together and they educated us. Most importantly they prayed without those prayers some of us wouldn't be here today. My everyday goal is to embody those qualities helping people "protect every risk of life including life".
